“The laboratory has a biometric entry system using finger-print scanning technology which provides access only to qualified laboratory scientists and physicians. The laboratory is also outfitted with motion detector alarms and monitored under 24 hour surveillance for added protection.”
Monitoring Cryopreservation Equipment
“The safety and security of patients’ reproductive tissue is our number one priority. All of our storage tanks are inspected daily and replenished with liquid nitrogen to make sure they are in the best condition possible. The storage tanks operate independently of electricity, therefore power outages will have no effect on the safety of cryopreserved sperm, eggs, embryos and tissue.
Alarms on our storage tanks alert us of any temperature fluctuations to prevent the tanks from even coming close to temperatures outside of the optimal range for cryopreservation. Staff is on call 24 hours a day in case of an emergency in our laboratory (though there has never been one).”
